One common theme that runs through my work is love. I've got a lot of personal work on display. Shots of my family. My wife, my kids.
So when I was trying to think about a personal project that would move me and keep me engaged I came up with the idea of shooting moms with their kids. I won't go too deep here trying to explain what you already know: moms are amazing, and their kids know it better than anyone.
Here are a few images from a shoot I did for the series. A bit of backstory. This particular mom has three kids. Her youngest had just graduated from preschool. A pretty great preschool, chock-full of memories not only from this little graduate, but from her two other kids as well. As a dad myself I knew what that must feel like. I'd been there myself when our youngest graduated from the very same preschool.
So I approached this mom and asked if I could document an afternoon with them together. Just a book, a great mom, and her almost kindergartener.
Hope you like these.
