I've just returned from my second trip to Bombay. I was there shooting footage for an upcoming video for EMBARQ. This same video has me in Istanbul (at the time of this writing) and Rio de Janeiro. Yeah, you can envy me, it's totally cool. I get it. I'm one lucky son-of-a-gun.
In Bombay, there's a road called Marine Drive where locals gather to watch the sunset. I was shooting a timelapse there when I saw an older gentleman sit down. I can't explain why, but it was "a moment." I snapped a few photos without him seeming to know, and then I asked if I could take his portrait.
He smiled and said, "If it will do you any good you may." I told him it would. The portrait is below. It turns out he has lived in the area just a few blocks from this bench and has been watching the sunrise and sunset every day for 40 years. 40 years!
What a way to start and end a day.
