A Better Weigh

In the many rural regions of Nepal, the very young are often undernourished. In some cases, young mothers have not experienced proper nutrition for themselves or their children. When children fail to reach a healthy weight, nutrition centers provide teaching, nourishment, and a place to stay for mom and baby. This means mothers may fly to a clinic and stay for several weeks.

I got to meet some of these moms and their beautiful children. When I arrived, thankfully most of the kids were nearly well enough to head home.

To give you a sense of how remote and rural some of these villages are, we were told to be mindful of tigers. Very good advice.
