The Innovators
Perhaps Claro Energy’s Sumitra Mishra put it best, when in my interview with him he said, “I believe the worst disease in the world today, is poverty.”
Claro was just one of the innovators funded by Powering Agriculture. For six years, Powering Agriculture supported the development of clean energy innovations that increase productivity and stimulate economic growth in the agriculture sector of developing countries to help end extreme poverty and extreme hunger.
From solar-powered irrigation to cold storage technologies, the program helped fund projects that reduce poverty, with an eye on clean solutions that do not further the effects of climate change.
